‘Ayade has not funded APC with a Kobo at any level’

The State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC in Cross River State, Sir John Ochalla has dismissed as tissues of lies, a statement from one Ekpenyong Effiom Asuquo, JP, the Secretary of PDP Youth Forum wherein he stated that “Governor Ben Ayade has been funding the APC ever since”.

Ochalla in a press statement made available to newsmen on Monday called the attention of the General Public saying he would have ordinarily ignored the write up from one Ekpenyong Effiom Asuquo, JP, secretary to a youth forum in PDP, but the times we are in now politically are very interesting and I will not let this opportunity pass by without keeping the records straight.

He said the controversial statement from a Youth Forum of the PDP, in paragraph seven, stated that ” Ayade has been funding the APC ever since. This statement is not only a tissue of lies but a figment of the author’s imagination.”

His words, “to the best of my knowledge, Governor Ayade has not funded the APC with a kobo at any level, rather the PDP and Governor Ayade tried and are still trying to sow seeds of discord within the APC but thank God majority of our people are wise enough to see through their antics.”

“The PDP should not drag the APC into their internal crisis. Let the PDP dance her strip dance in shame. All their evil plans against the APC have boomeranged”.

“The APC Cross River State is re-engineering with absolute resolve to key Cross River State into the Progressive family and save our people from a confused, clueless, and visionless PDP administration in the State.”

“I advise the PDP government in Cross River to focus their energies on educating our people on how to contain the Covid-19 pandemic and provide palliative to Cross Riverians in these difficult times.”

“Our doors remain open to all those who are ready to jump out of the PDP Sinking Ship into the Progressive APC Family.”

All Aboard..! Steering Nigeria’s COVID-19 Action Train

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Nigeria on the 27th of February 2020. Just a little over two months ago and, yet, it feels like a lifetime has elapsed. The world we lived in then, is so much different from the one we are about to be released into, as the lockdown restrictions are lifted. When the lockdown was announced by President Muhammadu Buhari on the 27th of March, there were 65 confirmed cases in the country and the President’s Chief of Staff had just tested positive for the virus. Today, we have confirmed over 2000 cases, and many of our beloved fellow citizens (more than 50) are no longer with us, having fallen in the wake of this novel coronavirus. May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and to those of us who remain on the journey of life, may God grant wisdom. We need it, desperately, at this time to navigate the complexities ahead. The month we spent sheltering in place was, without question, challenging; but in our isolation there was an odd sort of t

LASACO offers N1b free cover

LASACO Assurance Plc has provided N1billion free insurance cover to 200 frontline health workers in Osun State, its Managing Director, Mr Segun Balogun, has said. Balogun, in a statement, said the workers involved in containing the disease would enjoy insurance worth N5 million each to cover death/permanent disability and medical/hospitalisation expenses. According to him, the gesture was to boost the morale and motivate the workers, who are in the fore-front of the battle against COVID-19 and are, thus, exposed to several risks. He emphasised the need of such protection for the workers to enable them focus on their duty. He commended Nigerians for cooperating with the government in the fight against the disease and advised them to continue to observe social distancing and other preventive measures eradicate the disease. He promised that the company would continue to provide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support the government. LASACO Assurance, along with othe
